¶ Architecture
The Qwix Suite of applications are designed on the principles of a multi-tier distributed application. Without going into the super-technical aspects of the system it has a few core parts that can be outlined as follows:
¶ Database
At the heart of the Qwix system lies a database. Specifically, a Microsoft SQL database. The Qwix system supports the following database variants and versions:
- SQL 2016 and above
- Azure SQL
Not only does the database contain all the data collected and used by the system, it also relies heavily on the programmability of the database to support much of the business logic, and automation.

¶ Web Services
The various web services of the Qwix system provide the link between the database and the various client applications and Integration services
There are a few main web services:
- Framework API - Used to server the web portal, and serves as an integration endpoint (SOAP/REST/OPENAPI)
- Mobile Application (online & sync) - Serves the various mobile applications (SOAP/OPENAPI)
- OData API - Used as a data source for BI tools like Power BI
